Tired. I am very tired of feeling as though I must prove a negative.

This double standard when it comes to RACE in America must end.

I am a registered Republican and I would vote a Black person for President, and plan on voting for a black person for state rep here in my home state of Florida (Peter Boulware (REP). I contend Black Republicans are the key to America’s future. They understand the principals of our founding and comprehend the true American Dream.

The punch line in this cartoon is poking fun at the Clinton’s – a point which is well made and well deserved. The first frame however depicts all Republicans as white racists standing against any Black American getting into the White House. Sir, it is the left who separates everyone by their IDENTITY. We conservatives consider the IDEOLOGY. Simple enough sir? Thought not.

Where do I begin? The Obvious - There are millions of registered Black Republicans in this country. They believe in liberty, free markets, tough law enforcement, a strong military and less government interference in their lives and their businesses. Here are a few of their websites:

It is not the color of Barrack Obama’s skin that is the issue for REP voters; it is what resides in his ultra liberal mind and ultra liberal voting record (when he actually voted).

It is fact that millions of Republicans would have supported Colin Powell for President (many over GW Bush) back in 2000. When Hillary Clinton seemed the presumptive nominee many months ago, many REP pundits thought a Condi Rice on the REP side would have been great fun! Imagine the DEMS having to vote against a black woman running for President!

I am the conservOpunk and believe in everyone’s individual LIBERTY regardless of race. The mere fact that DEMS support race based programs in the first place speaks to their condescension towards Black Americans. They believe they cannot compete without help from the Govt.

The REP Party was created to end slavery and got the 1964 Civil Rights bill passed by defeating DEMOCRAT filibusters. There is a historically racist line thru history squarely on the DEM side, but for some reason they lobbied their way into the hearts and minds of 92% of Black America. It is clear (at least to me) that many Blacks are voting based on race, as are many whites. This will always be the case. People like Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton don’t want to END racism, they want to FIGHT racism. Man is imperfect and therefore racism will never be completely eradicated from society.

That being said, who is the party of prejudice? Plenty of Black Republicans have come down the pike against the big LIB establishment and got mostly support from white conservatives. Lynn Swann, Colin Powell, Condi Rice, Michael Steele (who had to dodge Oreos at campaign events), J.C. Watts, Alan Keyes have never had the support of “Black America” and enjoyed political success unmatched by most.

I am offended by the insinuation all Republicans are White, Racist, and cheering against anyone but Barrack Obama. Heck most of us would cut off our left big toe to get C Powell or C Rice in place of John McCain! I am sick of DEMS getting let off the hook upon uttering bigoted comments and lowering expectations when it comes to Blacks. We are all Americans! We are all out there struggling to make ends meet, succeeding at times and falling flat in others. Quit proliferating this stereotype of Republicans. I know it is difficult for the (overwhelmingly liberal) big media to be fair minded, but at least fake it. Damn!

It is 2008 and we all need to grow up. Flip Flop Obama Rama did not set this straight with his "race speech" and has since contradicted himself daily regarding race, Rev. Wright, etc. We need a Black Conservative who loves America to run one day. America is indeed ready for a Black person in the White House, just not this one.

You have just read the list of the modern Democrat Party nominees for President of the United States of America.

Don’t worry I am not planning on going thru each one and making sarcastic remarks about their lack of substance, brilliance or even competence. Rather I contend the list is best taken as a whole, which is MUCH greater than the sum of its parts and definitively speaks for itself.

As we conservatives lament the state of the REP party and the current nominee, a moderate at best and liberal sympathizer at worst, it does warm the heart to read over that list again. Man… what a collection! It is amazing to live in a country of more than 300 million citizens (at least 2-3 million of whom have the intellectual, financial, and political capital to actually run for President) and this is the glorious list birthed from the DEM party nomination procedure.

Two on the list were elected President of the United States. I spell the title out in its entirety to add weight to the fact that JIMMY CARTER and BILL CLINTON are the two success stories for the DEM Party on that list! Amazing but true! I swear!

Carter swims in the pot calling the kettle black when he describes G.W. Bush as being the “worst modern President” – when we all know Carter resides at this address. A one-termer whose “malaise speech” still ranks up there as “most embarrassed to be an American” moments, has been a disgrace since leaving office, blaming the U.S. for all the world’s problems and undermining our sovereignty by meeting with despots and terror leaders.

Clinton’s charm has l o n g worn off and his miserable (and rather bitter) showing as Hillary’s main supporter boldly displays his true colors… again. Bill was a disgrace whilst still in office and he has done little to redeem himself since. To re-hash his follies with regards to policy, ethics, the Law, fidelity, and morality is to insult your intelligence.

2008 brings many “first time in a long times” if you will:

The first time since 1960 (long before I was born) that a sitting U.S. Senator will be elected to the Presidency. There are many causes for this. The most obvious being two sitting Senators have NEVER RUN AGAINST ONE ANOTHER…EVER. (1

The others:

1. Governors prove themselves day to day in the most similar arena to the office of President.

2. U.S. Senators are perceived “blue bloods” by most Americans which hurts their appeal with the common man.

3. U.S. Senators have that pesky VOTING RECORD which can easily counteract any ridiculous campaign speech promise or revisionist history they may choose to present as fact.

4. The 1960 Presidential candidate, JFK, was a visionary and, although a DEM, very open minded and charismatic.

5. The Senators since then… well, read #4 again and think “exact opposite.”

The first time a Woman, a Black Man, and a Maverick have all run at the same time.

The most instances of media members saying the word “Race.” Presidential Race, Candidates Race, etc.

The first time the REP nominee openly courts Democrats, not to convert them to conservative principles based upon our founding, but Democrats as is. No change necessary.

The first time the block voting groups of the DEM Party have been nationally exposed. Finally!

The first time in forty years Black Americans (93% of them) might look themselves in the mirror after pulling the lever for a Democrat.
- My issue really is not that Obama flip flopped so many times regarding Rev. Wright or the fact that he stayed with the church for 20 years; it is instead the fact that there exist many, many churches just like this one! No wonder many young blacks lose hope. Goodness!

The first time the United States is running candidates who favor more top down, socialist style regulations on our industry.
- Even Vladimir Putin in Russia is relaxing Russia’s grip on its oil companies, allowing them to find the oil that is there to find – increasing supply and lowering price.

The GAP Bubba

First came the GAP ® then Baby GAP ® and now Bubba GAP. I can see it now – rows and rows of “sweatshop free” flannel shirts, hunting vests and trucker caps. Instead of ad campaigns featuring wafer thin models, celebs or musicians, we turn to Larry the Cable guy being hoisted aloft by adoring NASCAR fans.

I have been left at the station. Standing beside me are reason, logic, and the outward appearance of fairness. Apparently it is okay to refer to large segments of the American population as simply “Bubba.” We get the reference and apply it accurately when contemplating the editorial point being made.

This is so wrong-headed on so many levels that it pains me to slow down my brain enough to document this scenario accurately.

We begin with the catalyst - Newsweek’s lament of Barrack Obama’s “Bubba Gap” on their most recent cover. We all know this means he is perceived as too aloof for the common man. Too “out of touch” with the gun owning, church attending, working class fella. They no doubt are thinking “white guy” as well, but they don’t say this out loud so as not to offend all of the Black Americans named Bubba.

And what of those among us actually named “Bubba?” This is a great nickname and a term of endearment around where I live and work. I would think to lump the over-arching life view of the “Bubba” in Dothan Alabama with another residing in Mankato Minnesota would be a stretch. It would also be stereotyping. The big media painfully refer (to this day) to Bill Clinton as “Bubba” and this seems to fit fine. Does Obama have a “Bill Clinton” gap? Does this sum up Newsweek’s editorial view? I think not. The two are political peas in a pod.

Obama’s slip up (allowing his real views to be recorded, not in actually expressing his true feelings to the proper dinner crowd in San Fran) with the “bitter American” comments brought us all closer to the inner thoughts of a Freshman Senator who would be President. No sooner than the audio hit the internet did the editors of the major news outlets begin the spin.

(Remember the fawning over his Kennedy-esque race speech? Obama himself recanted (without even reading my essay on the subject) a month later in his press conference denouncing the un-denouncible. Recall the CNN reporters saying Rev. Wright hit “a home run” in the National Press Club diatribe? Which forever eliminated the defense of Wright’s rhetoric as being simply “out of context sound bytes”?)

The reason liberals in particular love Obama is the emergence of a new elite. One in which their views of an imperial and arrogant America are spoken as gospel by their new messiah. Liberals yearn for elites who have the grace and know how to help us “Bubbas” along and make the tough decisions regarding the role of Government and the direction of the Nation. In place of free minds and free markets the Democrats champion expert testimony and cocktail party intellectual banter.

I will continue to espouse my belief that Black Republicans are the key to the future of this country, as they “get it” and are in a position to positively influence young minds in the areas of individual liberty and capitalism as the best method to prosperity in the world. They want school choice, tough sentences for criminals, and the Government to stay out of the way they run their businesses.

This is why the Obamarama is so disheartening. When a Black REP comes down the pike he or she is demeaned by the very liberals who scream for equality and equal representation for all. Or worse, they are painted with the sell out or “Uncle Tom” (thanks Spike Lee) brush. I was still in college during the shameless Clarence Thomas hearings but even then (in my more liberal leaning days) I saw them for the “modern day lynching” that they were. People think it funny that Lt. Gov. Michael Steele has to dodge Oreo cookies hurled his way at debates. Hilarious! I get it - black on the outside and white on the inside. Yes, yes… brilliant!

I truly wish there were a viable Black American REP candidate that would in fact unite the country and bring about REAL change. It is true that some white people will never vote for a black candidate. It is true that some black people will not vote for a white candidate. When will this change? Never. Man is imperfect and there will always be prejudice in the world. Let this not cloud our ability to view the candidate for WHAT THEY STAND FOR and not WHO THEY ARE.

The 2008 Presidential Race perfectly illustrates the difference between Conservatism (an ideology) and Liberalism (an identity). For me (and a majority of Americans, some of whom are named Bubba) the WHAT will always trump the WHO.

I believe in individual liberty for all Americans and all people of the world. Liberty cannot exist however without the foundation of and adherence to the rule of Law.

I believe in true right and wrong and that there is no room for moral equivalence under the Law. We all know what is indeed right regardless of the presence of politics, religion or philosophy.

I believe in responsible government and worry not so much of the size of government but the role of government. When in doubt I defer to Liberty.

Freedom of Speech is the bedrock by which our society is guided through history. I believe in an open debate in the arena of ideas from all sides, an idea severely hampered on college campuses and major newsrooms. Any law which restricts free speech (McCain-Feingold) is alarmingly unconstitutional and flawed on many levels.

World Peace is a benevolent goal and one best attained by defeating those obstructing it. The Act of War has at times been the answer and has defeated Totalitarianism, Nazism, Fascism, Communism, U.S. Slavery, and is the liberating force for millions worldwide.

I believe strongly in the death penalty for the most serious of criminals in our society. Further I understand that the purpose of our penal system is not “Deterrent” but rather “Punishment.”

I am Pro Choice as a matter of a lessened ROLE of government and a woman’s right to regulate her own body. I do however fully agree with the recent Supreme Court ruling outlawing partial birth abortion.

I believe in the American notion of the Melting Pot and do not subscribe to the holistic tenet of “multiculturalism.” Such thinking leads to quotas based on race and pit one race in competition against another. I believe as Dr. Martin Luther King taught - that man should not be judged by the color of his skin but by the content of his character. Race first groups such as the Ku Klux Klan, La Raza and the Black Panther Party should be equally condemned in a civil society.

I fully support responsible gun ownership. Those who do not either has never read a history book concerning totalitarianism or completely lack understanding with regards to the rugged individualism of the average American and the spirit with which our nation was founded. The only laws on the books statistically proven to reduce violent crime rates are conceal carry laws, while “Gun Free Zones” merely disarm the law abiding citizen and leave guns to the state, and criminals who by definition do not follow laws.

We need to solve the need for alternative energy and start today. However in the 30 years prior to this energy being readily available and viable we need to free up the oil readily available. For perspective the average American pays $1400 a year for gas, and well over $15,000 in taxes. (Further, a majority of the gas cost is due to state and local taxes).

I believe certain vices such as marijuana and prostitution should not be legalized but de-criminalized; in that it is legal to drink alcohol, but a crime to drive while intoxicated. I do not however contend that these are “victimless crimes” when you consider the families of those who engage in such vices, the countless killed by drug lords, and young sex slaves worldwide.

The Public School system should be in the practice of educating our children.

As a Nation of Immigrants, America must value the prospect of those who yearn to come to this the greatest country on Earth. This must be done with order and under the rule of our immigration laws. To allow unfettered immigration is unsustainable, unsafe, and totally unfair to those immigrants who followed our immigration laws, at the same time creating a permanent underclass in America.

The War on Poverty is a noble cause but has accomplished little with tremendous cost. Poverty is better handled in the private and not public sector. Imagine the capitol, job creation and business growth that would have been achieved using the $40 TRILLION spent over the past 40 years? Ideas such as “Enterprise Zones” and School Choice have also shown excellent results in poorer communities.

Gay Marriage should be allowed as a matter of personal liberty. A homosexual couple should have every right to adopt a child. While not being the optimum mother and father scenario, a loving family far surpasses foster care when considering a child’s well being.

The American Healthcare system is without question the world’s finest, and any attempt to socialize this industry would prove disastrous. The world is currently full of examples of this very thing. Health Insurance should be simplified with individuals covering small expenses themselves while covering catastrophic emergencies. This would lower cost and allow even more to be insured.

Social Security is an inter-generational Ponzi scheme and should be gradually reduced and ultimately eliminated altogether. There is no trust fund as the money is allocated elsewhere, and citizens should be allowed to pass on their Social Security savings to their children.

Lowering Taxes on individuals stimulates the economy and is proven to provide HIGHER TAX RECIEPTS to the Federal Government. Less Taxes from more people is preferable to more taxes from fewer people. Currently the top 5% of U.S. earners pay nearly 50% of the total tax burden, and nearly half of U.S. citizens pay no federal income taxes. Opponents to lower taxes (Democrats) show the folly of their position when they support tax rebates to stimulate the economy.

The U.S. “Representative Republic” Political System of checks and balances, while not perfect (as man is imperfect) is the best means of governance ever conceived.

I believe in a higher power greater than Man whether it be called God, Mother Nature, the Universe or by any other name. It is through a power greater than man that inalienable God Given Rights can exist. Without “God” then it is MAN who is left to give human rights to others, which is tyrannical.

Ah Liberals. Not Classical Liberals mind you (a group I consider myself to be a proud part of) but modern day Leftists. They give the rest of us such a range of statements and situations that one has merely to sit back and wait for the next instance of idiocy!

I have at last figured it out.

The reason Liberals don't enter into free debates.
The reason they cannot succeed in Talk Radio.
The reason they collectively boycotted the FOX NEWS Presidential debate.
The reason they quickly become angry and bitter and begin to attack the person who disagrees with them. I have found the key!!!

Those "Republican Talking Points" (or "Facts" as I call them) are true! Liberals don't even dispute this, they simply do not like having these facts POINTED OUT to them. This is considered MEAN.

I so wish I could stand some of these DEM politicians in front of a crowd of BLACKBERRY and iPhone owners, all of whom are waiting on the Google search page. I would then begin making factual statements I know the politicos would find "inconvenient" and bask in the glory of it all.

I am basically a Libertarian and don't even support many REP positions, but the other side of the coin is so vacated by reason it is stunning. It is for this reason that I and the other "right wingers" will continue pointing out facts. Facts which are easily proven with minimal research.
